Sparring in Tang Soo Do is non-contact. Our sparring promotes technique, control, timing and accuracy. As your grade increases you will find that you will improve in all these areas, at Dan level you will find that whilst sparring the non-contact distance is very close indeed!

Sparring is a very important part of training in many martial arts, you will find that you are able to control your body, suppressing the 'fight or flight' urge to run away. Instead you will learn to apply the blocking and countering techniques you have learned in class without having to stop and think about them, reacting instead of acting, all whilst under pressure from your opponent.
