Yes! Come along to one of our classes, introduce yourself to one of our instructors who will give you details of our lessons then take a seat.
No, of course not. We cater for all ages (from 6 years) and levels of experience. Take your time and work within your own abilities. Start by learning the fundamentals and see how you progress.
Our instructors will teach you the core skills and how to execute them safely. All our instructors are trained and classes are supported with insurance in the unlikely event of injury.
If you have any health issues, please speak to one of our instructors and they will advise you. We are here to help you get the best out of the classes and will assist in any way we can.
Most students will train at least once a week in a class. The time taken to progress will depend on your own dedication, the typical time taken to reach 1st Dan is around 4 years.
As with any martial art there is a risk of injury. Tang Soo Do sparring is non-contact and every effort is taken to ensure the safety of it's practitioners. The instructors will teach you the techniques to execute the moves safely, the rest is up to you.
Most classes last around an hour and a half and involve warm-up exercises, physical conditioning, practising techniques, forms and sparring followed by a cool-down. Actual content in the classes will be varied in order to train the whole body and the mind.
